Kevin will be returning to Mad River Yoga this spring, this time to teach his first 6 day Intensive. 
Kevin received his Senior Intermediate certification directly from B.K.S. Iyengar in 2009. 
He exemplifies the Iyengar method giving clear and precise instruction. There will be 25 hours of instruction distributed over 6 days.

Svadhyaya Retreat with Edwin Bryant

Edwin Bryant will be returning to Mad River Yoga to teach on select Upanisads. 
The origin of Yoga practices are found in the Upanisads.

Edwin is a Professor at Rutgers University, NJ where he teaches Hindu philosophy and religion. Edwin has been a yoga practitioner for over 35 years. His enthusiasm for the subject is what comes through.

Each day will  start with early morning japa instruction and recitation. There will be time for asana practice and / or outdoor time. You are welcome to all or any part of the weekend.

There will be an  evening meal and kirtan on Saturday. 

Schedule of lecture times

  • Friday 6p - 8p
  • Saturday 10a - 4:30p
  • Sunday 9:30a - 12:30p

Fee $200.00 if paid by September 6th, $250.00 thereafter.

The Unstruck Sound- Tracing the Inner Nada in Asana.

Jarvis Chen is a Certified Iyengar Teacher / Intermediate Junior III who lives, practices and teaches in Boston. I am delighted to be hosting him again this year at Mad River Yoga.

In 2008, Jarvis was recognized by Yoga Journal as one of 21 teachers under the age of 40 who are “shaping the future of yoga.” 

Jarvis is a social epidemiologist and a research scientist at the Harvard School of Public Health.

  • Sunday 9am-12pm & 1:30pm-3:30pm, Bending Forward, Bending Back

Ayurveda, Constitution, Condition and Cooking with Hilary Garivaltis & Mary Flemming

Ayurveda is most concerned with inducing right relationship of body, mind, and spirit. Seeing our own constitution and condition clearly, is difficult. 

Hilary will lecture on the Elemental theory, wrapping the Gunas and Tridoshic theory into her cooking instruction. She will help us see our fundamental constitution and conditions and cook accordingly.

Mary will accompany her teaching Asana & Pranayama  in accordance with these insights.

 In this workshop we will gain insight into riding the edge of optimal wellness.

Sunday starts at 9am 
 finishes by 5pm

Fee: $125.00  if registered by July 9th, $150 thereafter
