One’s practice must be aligned with a proper understanding of the goal. On the path of yoga, practice of a wrong pose (asana) or wrong breathing (pranayama) will certainly cause damage to one’s body in due course of time. Regular practice has a slow but significant cumulative effect. In the same way, improper or incomplete understanding of the goal in yoga will not bring desired result. There is no grace without a race. And a race must be run with great attention. Therefore the Svadhayaya, Japa and Shastra retreats are an effort to understand and practice the path of Bhakti.
